We keep cookies and similar storage to the bare minimum. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies at all — which is why you will not see a pop-up asking you to consent to trackers we never set.
Sign-in token: keeps you securely logged in after you use your magic link.
App state: remembers your place in the judging flow and your assigned anonymous handle.
Security: helps protect the service against abuse. Under the UK’s PECR rules these are exempt from consent because the service cannot work without them.
We use two analytics tools, and we treat them differently — on purpose.
Plausible runs always. It is cookieless and privacy-friendly: it sets no cookies, does not identify you, and does not track you across other sites. Under the UK's 2026 cookie rules it is exempt from consent because it is first-party, aggregate statistics only.
Google Analytics (GA4) runs only if you accept it on the cookie banner. It sets cookies and shares data with Google, so we never load it unless you opt in. Decline and it is never loaded — Plausible still gives us the basics, anonymously. You can change your mind at any time from cookie settings in the footer: choose decline and we stop using it.
No advertising cookies. No third-party marketing trackers. No cross-site or cross-device tracking. No fingerprinting for ad targeting.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Note that blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you staying signed in.
